Dr. Naichen Chen holds a PhD in philosophy of education from the University of Florida. He has taught philosophy, Buddhism, and education at universities in Taiwan and the United States.
He served as president of National Hua Lien Teachers College in Taiwan and the University of the West, formerly Hsi Lai University, in Los Angeles, California. His writings include essays and books on education, religion, and philosophy in both Chinese and English.
Bringing the sutra into English.
His English translation of The Great Prajna Paramita Sutra is based on the Chinese Da Bo Re Bo Luo Mi Duo Jing (大般若波羅蜜多經), rendered from Sanskrit by Master Xuanzang (玄奘法師).
The open manuscript library brings together thirty volumes covering all six hundred fascicles, along with the translator’s introduction and glossary.
